Course Description

‘Til Death Do Us Part' is a performance written following a series of interviews and workshops with perpetrators and survivors of domestic abuse. It was take...n around prisons and aid groups working with both survivors and perpetrators as a means of understanding reactions, responses, behaviours and attitudes. It has been used to educate people of the complexities involved in domestic abuse, the many and varied forms it can take and also works with concepts of prevention. As a theatre workshop it is used to train in the many aspects and facets of Theatre of the Oppressed in performance. In this workshop you will find yourself immersed in applied theatre in action and learn what makes these kinds of plays so different, so memorable and so effective. In this way you will see firsthand how this new and innovative approach has been used in practice.

IST Drama in partnership with Le Bulle Carrée's Festival Impulsez IV are proud to present...

'TRIO'

with Mark Jane and Peter Corser

IST has teamed up with Toulouse based theatre company La Bulle Carrée to participate in their annual improvisation theatre festival. This runs from early October until early December with many different performances taking place across Toulouse and surrounding areas. There are a wide variety of theatre companies coming from different places to participate in this year’s festival (called ‘Festival Impulsez IV’ - see attached poster).

On Thursday 24 November at 20h30 IST will host a fun performance called ‘TRIO’ in English in the new EC7 auditorium. This company is from the UK but are now based in Paris. You might have seen their work a couple of years back at TMP in Pibrac as part of a previous festival. All details about the show and how to book tickets can be found in English here http://www.bullecarree.org/24-11-Trio-in-english. There is also a Facebook page with more details (in French) here https://www.facebook.com/festivalimpulsez/. Please not that tickets can only be purchased through the listed means (online at the festival website or via FNAC, Carrefour, Intermarché, Hyper U, etc.) and not at school. For one show tickets are priced at €7 children, €10 reduced and €12 adult full price.

We are delighted to host this and to welcome more theatre in English to our school and local expat community. Places are limited so please do book quickly to avoid disappointment. This should be a fun night out for the family! I hope to see many of you there on Thursday 24 November and I hope to bring more opportunities like this to you in the future!
